The IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy (www.imtlucca.it) invites expressions of interest for an Assistant Professor position with tenure-track (“Type-B Ricercatore”) to carry out research in the broad area of machine learning.
The goal of the School is to enrich its set of quantitative methods for building models of dynamical systems for prediction, regulation, and optimization, that can be applied to problems of economics and management, and of analysis and management of cultural heritage, cultural activities, and cultural phenomena.
Candidates must have an excellent record of high-impact international publications on topics of machine learning such as learning based on neural networks and decision trees, identification of dynamical systems, optimization algorithms, multivariate statistical analysis and regression, and must be able to apply such methodologies in multi-disciplinary research initiatives.
Activities of assistant professors at the School mainly include research, tutorship and mentoring of PhD students, and graduate teaching. Net salary varies depending on income taxes, local taxes, retirement plan, health care deduction, and tax exemptions.
