Call for grants at the University of Florence co-financed by the Tuscan Region

The selections to award 28 research grants at the University of Florence co-financed by the Tuscan Region are now open!
Here we carefully cherry-picked the ones involving a data science approach research.
All grants have a duration of 24 months, starting from Wednesday 1st June 2022, for a gross amount of 30.000 euro.
Candidates must have not yet attained age of 36 years. We remind you that applicants may submit no more than one application through this form.
Please note the deadline for submission is Saturday 12th March 2022, at 2.00 pm CET

 

Title: “Innovative computational methods for intelligent aquatic systems” (MAREA)

Scientific advisor: Carlotta Giannelli, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (DIMAI), University of Florence

Disciplinary-scientific sector: MAT/08
Industrial partner: MDM Team

Requirements: ideal candidates have obtained a post graduate scientific or engineering degree or in the fields relevant for the research project. Further requisites are previous experience in programming (i.e. C++, Matlab, …) and knowledge of  numerical methods for scientific computation.

Title: “Data archives from multi-sensor scanners for knowledge anomaly detection and preservation of cultural heritage” (ASMARA)

Scientific advisor: Marco Bertini, Department of Information Engineering (DINFO), University of Florence

Disciplinary-scientific sector: ING-INF/05

Requirements: ideal candidates have obtained a post graduate degree in Information Engineering (LM-32), or Computer Science (LM-18), Electronic Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering (LM-29), Telecommunication Engineering (LM-27). Further requisites are previous experience in development of neural network and artificial vision systems, previous knoledgw of programming in Python, OpenCV, framework per AI, and of Robot Operating System (ROS)

Title: PATTERN AND ANOMALY DISCOVERY (PAD)

Scientific advisor: Simone Marinai, Department of Information Engineering (DINFO), University of Florence

Disciplinary-scientific sector: ING-INF/05

Requirements: ideal candidates have obtained a post graduate degree in Information Engineering (LM-32), or Computer Science (LM-18), Automation Engineering (LM-25), Electronic Engineering (LM-29), Telecommunication Engineering (LM-27). Holding a PhD in the fields of Engineering would be an asset. Further requirements include previous experience in programming (Python, useful but non essential: C/C++, Java), experience in machine learning techniques, knowledge of methods and algorithms of machine learning and their application in applicative contests of image processing, knowledge of main framework of machine learning based on deep learning.

Title: “Supply CHain Evaluation with Model-based and data driven Approaches” (SCHEMA)

Scientific advisor: Enrico Vicario,Department of Information Engineering (DINFO), University of Florence

Disciplinary-scientific sector: ING-INF/05

Requirements: ideal candidates have obtained a post graduate degree in Information Engineering (LM-32), or Computer Science (LM-18). PhD and publications in the fields relevant for the project would be an asset. Further requirements are previous experience in software development, in particular Java and JEE, UML, Domain Driven Design methods, experience in application of Model Driven Engineering methods for automatic generation of models, development of analytic component  through quantitative evaluation methods.
